The Hindu Caretaker of 350-Years Old Mosque: Bechan Baba

Anarwali Masjid, a local mosque in the Indian state of Varanasi, where Hindus and Muslims worship together, is being maintained by a Hindu man.
72-year-old Hindu caretaker Bechan Baba devotes his entire day to the maintenance of the mosque.
He says that I have been taking care of the mosque here for the last 45 years. Both Hindus and Muslims visit and worship here.
He further said that my father used to be here and after him now I am carrying out this responsibility. I have been here since my childhood.
Be it the security of the Pomegranate Mosque or cleanliness, Bechan Baba does the work himself instead of depending on others.

Regarding the worshippers, Beechan said that 5 daily prayers are offered in this mosque, the number of worshippers was less during my father’s time, but now many houses have been built and the number of worshipers has also increased.
