British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan has been granted the honorary rank of captain by the Pakistan Army for a day after he met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir!
Khan, who has won several global boxing titles, called Gen. Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ)—Rawalpindi today! Along with martial arts champion Shahzaib Rind. Rind made his mark with a knockout against Indian Fighter Rana Singh in 20 seconds at ‘Karate Combat’ in Dubai last month, as per a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Khan shares a video sporting the uniform of the Pakistan Army, and his pictures on Instagram, and he captions it: “Big thanks To General Syed Asim Munir, and Pakistan Army for honoring me With the Rank of Captain”!
In one photo, the ex-boxer was shouting the slogan: Pakistan Zindabad, like military officers traditionally do. He also put up another picture showing him getting a guard of honor from a smartly outfitted contingent of soldiers at GHQ!!

Apparently, on the way to the Army’s headquarters in a vehicle, Khan says in his video, he seems quite merry for being honored as a captain while expressing gratitude to the Pakistan Army.
Telling his fans on this achievement, Khan points out that this was “simply an honorary rank given to me by my people, Pakistan. I hold a lot of love for the citizens of Pakistan and this country at large. I wanted to share this experience! However, I am not touching on political stuff.
